Russell served as a producer for NBC Olympics in Sydney 2000 and Salt Lake 2002 and has created feature content for industry heavyweights including ESPN, CBC Olympics, Quokka Sports and ABC Sports.

He created a television series for CBC, worked as an executive producer of three long-form documentaries including Unbroken: The Snowboard Life of Mark McMorris, that earned a special screening at the renowned Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
